DOGS COMING SOON

Hey there! My mom says I am just too stinkin' cute - it must be a good thing because she always smiles when she says that. I love to pick up sticks, rocks, acorns and other stuff when we go for walks. I quickly have learned what "drop it" means. I think those squirrels would be lots of fun to play with - I tug on my leash when I see one, but otherwise I am pretty good!

My mom also thinks that I have mastered all this "go potty" business! She taught me all the right things and I caught on pretty quick!

I love to play with all my toys and usually empty my toy box every day. I'm learning that shoes and slippers are not play toys. I think mom is happy that I'm not a big chewer. I have a foster sister - she was pretty grumpy when I first got here, but we're starting to play and wrestle now. It's fun to have a brother or sister to play with. I also love to snuggle on the couch or relax on my bed while my foster mom works.

I may hang out here for a while and get ready for my forever home! In the meantime, mom promises to teach me lots of good commands so that when I'm ready for my forever home, you'll be amazed at how perfect I am.

Hi My name is Archie. I got my name because when I was found as a stray, I was so skinny you could see all my ribs arching out. I have a very healthy appetite and I am gaining weight and looking better everyday. My foster family thinks I am a very sweet and lovable boy. I love to get and give hugs. I am potty trained and very calm and respectful inside the house and won't chew anything. I will follow you around the house to see what you are doing and then sit at your feet and take a nap. When it's time to get in my crate, I will happily get in with a treat. I recently met my neighbor dog friends and was so excited to play with them. I love to go on walks and runs and am working on my leash training. I'm really looking forward to getting my new furever family to love and be loved.

Hi, I'm Reggie...or Reggie Roo...or Reg Reg. I am an extremely handsome black lab or at least that's what the mirror tells me every morning! Being about a year old means I've got lots of energy. Wrestling and tug 'o war are lots of fun. I've got some pretty cool foster siblings to help entertain me. I'm working on my house manners so I know that I can't be as bubbly inside as I am outside. I'm learning some basic commands and am already house and crate trained. I mastered the doggie door in just one hour! My foster family says I'm super smart and just need to make sure I get my energy burned off. While I'm a tall boy, I'm still pretty skinny but I'm getting fed lots of great food every day to help me get to a healthy weight. I'm good in the car and settle down after a few minutes on a leash.

Mom says I have to also tell you about what she calls my "bad habit". Apparently, digging under the fence and visiting the neighbors down the street or even a few streets over (I run fast) is not acceptable behavior. They are working with me to help me realize that I'm in a loving home and I am wanted very much so there is no need to run away.

Mom also says I'm going to find what she calls a Furever home real soon and it'll have lots of toys to play with, a yard to run in, and great people to hang out with. I hope it happens soon 'cuz it sounds fun!

Hi my name is Raven, and I am so happy you are reading all about me! I am a sweet girl who just loves to hang out with my people. I will follow you here, there and everywhere! My favorite place to hang out is the kitchen where the people make all kinds of delicious smelling treats. I wait and I wait for one of those delicious morsels to fall to the floor or end up in my food dish! It almost always happens especially when I am patient. I can do many things that my people like me to do like sit and come running when my name is called. I can also chase and torment those annoying cats my people insist on keeping in the house. I would just love a house with only me and some cool people, big and little. I don't really play well with other dogs and really just like people who will love me and pay lots of attention to me. I am such an easy girl to take care of. You will just love me! I hope to meet you soon and find the perfect home.

You can call me Hugh but I call myself Lucky!! You see I was in the shelter with an uncertain future when much to my good fortune, the nice lady from DFW Lab Rescue found me and took me to the vet. I had a nasty cough and the vet said it was my heart worms. So they gave me some medicine and I am getting better. I know that my others loved me because they taught me things like not going potty in the house, how to wait patiently for them in my crate, to sit, and take a treat gently, and to walk next to them on a leash. But for whatever reason they didn't know about heart worm prevention but that is all behind me now.

Let me tell you a little about me. I am a very happy dog. I play well with others and my idea of a good time is being with my people doing whatever it is you want to do. I will always carry a toy or ball with me, in case you want to stop and play. I really don't bark unless I need to tell you that someone is in our yard or at the front door. I am not a big guy so if you want to go on vacation in the car I will curl up in a ball in the back seat. I sleep on the dog bed next to my foster mom all night and don't disturb her until the alarm goes off. I love attention and you can pet me all day or if you need to work just tell me to lie down and I will and take my nap until you are ready to go outside and walk or play.

I am looking forward to finding my new family. For all of you that have been admiring my pics, I will be ready Memorial Day weekend so see you then.

Gabe is house trained, crate trained, doesn't get on the furniture, gets along with cats and other dogs, great with kids, and is a love bug.

Gabe has been with his foster family a little over a week. He's a laid back happy guy. The reason he's in our program is due to several good Samaritans-- it has taken a village. He was roaming the countryside, emaciated, hit by a car, and went to the porch of a house. They tried to find his owner, with no luck. Finally, a wonderful lady took him to the vet, paid all his bills, and gave him tons of TLC. While there he charmed the entire staff with his good looks and sweet personality. Each and everyone of them fell in love with him. Luckily, my family became his foster. We feel very privileged to have this guy. It will be a few weeks until he is available due to a swollen elbow. But when he is, we all can't wait to see who the lucky family is. He's had a hard first 2 years of his life. Now he's ready to live the good life! We want to see this guy spoiled rotten.
